Advanced Compression Methods

Choose the compression method that best fits your needs. Each method offers different trade-offs between file size and quality.

1

By Percentage

Set a target file size as a percentage of the original. For example, 60% will reduce a 100MB file to approximately 60MB. This is the default and most intuitive method.

2

By Target Size (MB)

Specify an exact target file size in megabytes. The compressor will adjust quality to achieve this size. Useful when you have specific file size requirements.

3

By Quality Level

Choose from Very Low to Very High quality presets. Higher quality means larger files but better visual fidelity. Medium is recommended for most use cases.

4

By Resolution

Downscale your video to a lower resolution (e.g., 4K to 1080p). This can dramatically reduce file size while maintaining good quality for smaller screens.

5

By Max Bitrate

Set a maximum bitrate in kbps. Ideal for streaming applications where you need to control bandwidth usage.

Which Encoder Is Best for Compressing Video?

We support multiple video codecs, each with different strengths. Choose based on your priorities: compatibility, compression, or speed.

💡 Recommendation

For most users, H.264 is the safest choice due to its universal compatibility. If you're compressing 4K or high-resolution content and don't need to support very old devices, H.265 will give you significantly smaller files. For web-only distribution, VP9 is an excellent open-source alternative.
